3 Ways Fans Can Boost Artist Requests

10-Sep-2021 By Brandy Corlett Leave a Comment

Do you want to help your favorite emerging artists?

Artist Request is a facility offered by youbloom where fans have the opportunity to request their favorite emerging artists to perform in their city. It provides support for upcoming artists, raises the possibility of worldwide awareness and creates a strong connection between artists and fans. This concept, which is unique to youbloom, produces a way for music lovers to help emerging artists thrive by being a part of their crowd.

1. Be a trendsetter
Create a youbloom account and in the fan details of your profile be the first fan to request any artist or band from around the world to perform in your city. If you don’t see an artist listed in the youbloom network, enter their name and social media username and youbloom will reach out to them. There is no limit to how many artists you can request. You will receive an email when an artist performs in your city.

2. Promote Artist Request Link
A unique artist request link is a direct link for the artist or fan to share directly with others to receive artist requests. The request link is different for an artist and fan. The more fans that request an artist, the more likely they will perform in your city or virtually. You will receive an email when an artist plays in your city.

3. Become a Street Team Fan
Super fans will be part of an artist’s success by earning rewards for requesting artists. Artists will receive rewards for the number of requests and street team fans. A small dedicated fan base helps gain exposure through artist requests and live performances in cities worldwide. This allows fans and artists to grow their network connections.

youbloom helps fans connect with artists that they love and then hands them the power to bring them to perform in their city. Be the key to kickstarting your favorite emerging artist’s career. Request an artist NOW!

February Virtual World Tours Review Calgary – Ottawa – Dublin

14-May-2021 By Brandy Corlett Leave a Comment

youbloom hosted its inaugural virtual world tour on February 25-27, 2021. The tours were held in three cities: Calgary and Ottawa in Canada, and Dublin in Ireland and showcased emerging music from around the world. The performing acts were The Blue Dolphins, Ashley Pater, Reid Zakos, and Loss.  In addition to the performance, a local youbloom CityRep hosted a Q&A after each show.

The Blue Dolphins are a folk-rock duo from Los Angeles, CA. Their performance highlighted their perfectly harmonized voices with their soothing acoustic sound. Their song “You’re Not Alone” struck a poignant chord, particularly in these pandemic times. Similarly, their stunning execution of last year’s singles, “Invincible” and “Light in Dark Places” really showed off their musical range.

Ashley Pater is a singer songwriter from Vancouver, Canada.  She performed an intimate set with just an acoustic guitar. Pater’s sensual velvet tones are often compared to that of Billie Eilish and were expressed beautifully in the performances of her songs, “Honey” and “Without You”. She continued her stunning alt-pop-rock set with “Little Blue” and “Hey You” to a highly receptive audience.

Calgary based electro-pop artist, Reid Zakos performed at the Calgary and Ottawa shows.  His music and stage presence captivated the audience, particularly with his wardrobe changes during the set – alternating several different colored jackets between songs. Zakos showed his expert stage presence, even through the challenges of digital shows, performing his enigmatic tunes, “Smoke”, “Falling”, “Neon”, and “Gladiator”.

Loss are a heavy metal rock band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. They had the opportunity to perform upon the Dublin virtual show. Their passion and drive was hit home by their powerful guitar riffs and energetic, rock-and-roll vibe. They carried a compelling message with their songs, touching on the violence and social unrest dominating our culture. Their set included their song, “The Fear” and tracks from their new EP,  “Let’s Go” and “Burn Inside”.

The youbloom Virtual World Tour prides itself upon a wide range of musical styles, connecting musical artists by passion, message and relatability, not just genre.  Each performer has their own unique style and sound, yet there is always something that youbloom felt were akin to each other. The three tours were exciting to watch and featured great new music, enthusiastic audience participation, and interesting stories about each artist/band.

Every artist or band has to network to be successful in the music industry. Networking is critical to have a music career. Communication, marketing yourself, and patience are beneficial to expanding your goals and building your community. The following six tips will help you to make a connection with other musicians.

In Person
In person is the best way to build a relationship. Show enthusiasm when initiating a conversation and include questions that are thoughtful.

Attend Concerts
This is a great way to network as a beginner. Most likely, you will want to start small by networking at local concerts, then attend bigger events such as festivals and conferences.

Target Audience
Communicate with your fans through your email list and street team to spread the word about your music, concerts, contests etc. Remember to always keep your old fans and new audience informed about the latest news weekly/monthly.

Maintain Contacts
Once you have new contacts, don’t hesitate to send a short email to say that it was a pleasure to meet them. This is an opportunity to follow up on anything discussed face to face and arrange another meeting.

Promote Music
Write, create, and promote music that will excite people to draw them in. You want people to love your music as much as you do and make an instant and lasting impression of who you are as an artist/band.

Social Media
Networking on social media is the easiest way to network with musicians. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram make it accessible to instantly connect and communicate with your local music scene.

youbloom CityReps can help by promoting shows.

Never miss an opportunity to network and create a new relationship with someone. It’s great to have contacts; remember to share as well. Most importantly, enjoy meeting new people and creating new opportunities. Best of all, look forward to having long-lasting connections throughout your music career.
